About the Designer

My Story

I have been fascinated with fashion since a very early age and my love for clothing started by designing dresses for my paper dolls and "employing" my mother to make dresses for my Barbie.

This passion only grew stronger while I was growing up and I enrolled to study at Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion Design in Stellenbosch in 2005. I obtained my diploma in Fashion Design in 2007. I decided that the way forward for me was to study Bcomm (Management Sciences) at Stellenbosch University and I received my degree in March 2011.

I wasn't sure what career path I should pursue after my studies, but I never doubted that it should be in fashion. I finally took a leap of faith and started working on my own label in August 2012 from my home town, Mossel Bay. I made the move back to Cape Town in October 2013 and launched a shared studio and retail collaborative called LOVE TRY BUY Artisan Trading (Pty) Ltd with my good friend, Lara Kelbe. After running our studio and shop in Salt River for 2 years we made a decision to give up our shop space and to focus on production and stocking other shops.

Since December 2016 my career has taken a few twists and turns. I am currently working as a Product Developer, but my passion for designing beautiful clothing is still as strong as ever.
